Battle of the Books!!!

Every quarter the 4th, 5th and 6th grade classes compete in the Battle of the Books. They have to read 4 books, break into teams of three and then they face off in front of the entire school. The top three teams then get to face off with the Mesa Cambridge teams and this time Emily was on one of those teams! I was so proud of her. She had to work very hard to get the reading done and then she studied just as hard to prepare for the competition. A couple of weeks ago, we all traveled to the Mesa campus to support her team. As luck would have it though, one of her team mates moved just prior so it was only her and her classmate Ellie for their team but guess what....THEY WON!!!

I can't tell you how funny it was to watch these two. They were absolutely hilarious! Oh by the way and in case you're wondering, the books they had to read where Maniac Magee, Ruby Holler, Freckle Juice and The Secret Garden.
